If you would like to get on a specific team, please indicate the Coach Name in the Special Request box in the registration form. Likewise, if you would like to play on the same team as a friend, please indicate the friend’s name in the Special Request box on the registration form. The Age Group Coordinators will make every effort to accommodate your request, but these requests are not guaranteed and are on a first come, first serve basis.

Fall Recreational Coaching Clinic/Meeting Schedule (Mandatory for all U4-U18 Rec Coaches):

9AM-noon: Youth Module (U4-U18 coaches with no Youth Module Certificate)

noon-1PM: Coaches Meeting (all U4-U18 coaches)

Player Option “Excel”
A player can choose to play in the Recreational league but play on an Excel team. These teams play in the Recreational league but are coached by a San Tan professional coach. Our “Excel” program is being offer for our Recreational Fall/Winter/Spring seasons. For more information Click Here.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
The San Tan Soccer Club Recreational program is for boys and girls in the U5 to U18 age groups of all abilities. We have an AGE MATRIX that can be used as well to find the appropriate age group for your player. The Recreational program focuses on teaching fundamental ball skills in a fun, positive, team oriented atmosphere. Our Recreational program serves approximately 3000 kids throughout the east valley.
NOTE: Legacy players are not permitted to play on any Recreational or Excel team during any of the three Recreational/Excel seasons: Fall, Winter, and Spring.

At SAN TAN Soccer Club, we know that you have a choice with your child’s recreational soccer needs and we are thankful that you have chosen our program. TEAMS:
All recreational teams are formed within each age group by a number of factors - coach requests, teammate requests, school attending, and neighborhood. Special requests must be made through a parent note during the online registration process. While we try to honor special requests we cannot guarantee that all requests can be met. Date of registration will be the determining factor if a team receives more requests than can be met. Special requests can only be made online at time of registration. The special request box is in Step 1 – Registration; located to the right of the program you select.
NOTE: Teams will not be rearranged to accommodate requests made during the late registration period for the season.
All Recreational team information including team rosters, coaches, and practice days and times are finalized after the schedule Recreational Coach Clinic/Meeting normally the Saturday before the first week of practices. All Recreational coaches are asked to start contacting all their players after the Recreational Coach Clinic/Meeting.

AGE GROUP:
To determine the age group your child should play we have an AGE MATRIX that can be used to find the appropriate age group.
WHAT PLAYERS NEED:
Soccer ball:
U4-U8: size 3
U9-U11: size 4
U12-U19: size 5
Soccer Cleats:
Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. Baseball/Football cleats are not permitted. These shoes have a front toe cleat that is not permitted in soccer.
Shin Guards:
Shin guards must be worn under the socks.
Practice gear:
Shorts, Shirt, Socks, Shin guards
