2016 will be the 17th anniversary of the Ostrich Festival Tournament. The tournament is held each March to coincide with the city of Chandler’s Ostrich Festival. While most other areas of the country are cold, wet and sometimes snowy at this time of year we enjoy warm sunny weather ideal for outdoor sports. Teams in age groups U7 through U19 are invited to apply. Come and join in the fun as some of the best teams meet for a weekend of great soccer!
If a weekend of great soccer is not enough, try attending one of the many Major League Baseball preseason games. Arizona is home to the Cactus League. Each March, teams come from all over the country to train and prepare for the season. Take Friday afternoon off, take advantage of the great weather, and watch a baseball game. Then follow that up with great soccer!

Membership in US Youth Soccer, AYSO, US Club Soccer, or any other USSF Affiliate.
Foreign teams, including those from Canada and Mexico.
Age Groups: U7 through U19 - For age bracket information refer to our AGE MATRIX.
Teams with loan players must not exceed the maximum roster limit.
Players may only play for 1 tournament team. All players must have player passes issued by official organization. Passes must inclide the player’s photo.
Academy Teams - Do not need player passes, but must provide an AYSA issued roster. Academy players may play in 2 squads for the same Academy team if the team plays with a non-fixed roster and the players are registered as AYSA Academy players. For example, Academy Team Red has 15 players and splits into Academy Team Red 1 and Academy Team Red 2, (both teams must register in the tournament). A player may play for both Red 1 & Red 2, but their play time must not exceed 80 minutes of soccer per day.

The Fine Print:
All Maricopa and Pinal county teams will be considered for a Friday night game. We will first use teams that request Friday night.
Out of town/state teams will be considered for an 8AM or 9AM game Saturday morning - No Exceptions.
Teams will not be accepted or scheduled unless payment is received by February 20, 2016.
As per the Application Agreement checked off during registration, teams forfeit and/or are responsible for registration fees if they wish to withdraw after being accepted to the tournament.
The tournament will NOT work around league games - Use your blackout dates.
The tournament will NOT workaround Prom, SATs, ACTs, etc. Please plan accordingly.
Please see "Hotel Reservations" for details on booking. Do not wait for venue assignments to secure your hotel - Book early for best selection. Venue assigments will NOT be published any sooner than 2 weeks before the start of the tournament.
We will try and avoid coaching conflicts for bracket play for coaches with maximum 2 teams. Regrettably, we CANNOT work aroound conflicts for coaches with more than 2 teams. Always have a registered assistant coach on your roster (with photo ID pass). We cannot avoid conflicts on Sunday for consolation, semi-final and final games.
Each age bracket U7-U19 will be formed based on the minimum number of teams necessary to form the bracket. If an age bracket cannot be formed the existing teams will move up to the next higher age bracket (exception: U8 and U11 will not move up to U9 and U12 respectively).
The tournament reserves the right to change the schedule as needed up to the start of the tournament or during the tournament. It is the responsibility of coaches and managers to know their latest schedule.
