Legacy Tryouts

Players aged 10 and above are placed on Legacy teams through a tryout process. Players will be placed on a Legacy team based on their age, ability and commitment. The goal is to create multiple teams at each age level and to place players onto a team which best suits his or her technical ability and desire. The most effective means for team and player advancement is to have each group as equally matched in skill level as possible. This allows the tailoring specific objectives for each group of players. Players who are not yet ready for competitive soccer are referred to San Tan's recreational program if teams are available.

San Tan's competitive teams are labeled as Legacy Red and Legacy White.  Under some circumstances, San Tan may form a third team, designated as Legacy Blue.  The players deemed to have the highest current playing ability are placed on the Red team.  The 2nd group is placed on the White team.

Legacy Philosophy:  San Tan Legacy is dedicated to developing top-rated soccer players at high levels of competition, and to preparing individual players for high school and collegiate competition.  To accomplish these goals, the Legacy style of play will include a fun and competitive teaching environment, based on age-appropriate curriculum.  This will develop players and teams' ability to score goals, implement strategies, develop a competitive mentality, strengthen teamwork, and generate a passion for the game.
