The 2010 Under 7 thru Under 10 Boys and Girls Assessments have all been completed. For possible additional player spots for teams please contact Director of Coaching Andy Bonchonsky at andysantan@cox.net.
Players in age groups from Under 7 - Under 10 are placed on Legacy teams through an evaluation, or assessment process. Players will be placed on a Legacy team based on their age, ability and commitment. The goal is to create multiple teams at each age level and to place players onto a team which best suits his or her technical ability and desire. Players who are not yet ready for competitive soccer are referred to San Tan's recreational program. Players also are identified for the program based on evaluation during the recreational season by the various coaches and directors.
Coaches and parents may also request that specific players be evaluated for the Legacy program. San Tan's competitive teams are labeled as Legacy Red, Legacy White and Legacy Blue. The players deemed to have the highest current playing ability are placed on the Red team. The 2nd group is placed on the White team. The 3rd group is placed on the Blue team.
Legacy Philosophy: San Tan Legacy is dedicated to developing top-rated soccer players at high levels of competition, and to preparing individual players for high school, collegiate, and professional competition. To accomplish these goals, the Legacy style of play will include a fun and competitive teaching environment, based on age-appropriate curriculum. This will develop players and teams' ability to score goals, implement strategies, develop a competitive mentality, strengthen teamwork, and generate a passion for the game.
